Green Chile and Chorizo Bread or Barbarian Bing Bread





Are you ready? It seems that the last few weeks has found our Hatch chile friend, Preston, making the rounds. Lately, I've seen so many chile recipes out there and now there is one more. Mine also contains the home made chorizo that I mentioned in my last post but one could also use store bought. Just don't skip the Hatch chilies. I never say no to chilies even though my freezer is still full

Chorizo - How to Make It and Eat It!







 Chorizo is so full of flavor and so easy to make, it is high time you try it yourself. I love sausages probably because I love the flavor that is infused into the meat. One can be so creative when it comes to cooking with them. In most cases it is totally acceptable to substitute ground turkey or chicken instead of pork or beef. The choice is totally yours. Tamale, Cornbread Dressing with Chorizo and the House is in a Frenzy









The kids are home. The laundry room is filled with wine. Cases of wine direct by way of Salt Lake City and Vegas and Vail and Napa. In no particular order. We are all exhausted, but happy. We are together and that feels good. Even the dogs know it. The chemistry is still there. Here. Whatever.

Today we are doing some more cooking. I'm not sure why that sentence contains the word  we.

My Favorite Red Chile and a Breakfast Sandwich




Red chile and a breakfast sandwich.

 It was a cold, gray morning here in Colorado. After the snow and freezing temperatures my poor hyacinths just didn't want to wake up. Their dark green leaves and their pink and purple flowers lay drooped in the dirt. But their scent is still strong and I am hopeful they will make a recovery. It is the only flower the rabbits ignore. But they better watch

election is over. It is time to concentrate on being thankful. I am thankful
there are no more phone calls, political ads, signs and other rhetoric. I am
thankful I live in a country where I am allowed to vote. I just wish I felt a
bit more hopeful about where this country is going and what people really want.
I am a bit confused but that is nothing new.

When the weekend rolls around I’m ready to chill. I don’t really want to cook-I’d rather try some new restaurant but sometimes that’s just not in the cards. I don’t really want to go to the grocery along with everyone else and so I’m stuck with what is on hand. Sometimes it isn’t much, but sometimes not so bad.  But I also want something easy and soothing and maybe something with
